What is the process of booking a wedding & accommodation at Xanadu Villas & Retreat?

Our property is private and exclusive with 9 villas comprising 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom villas. It can host a total of 26 guests comfortably and up to 35 if extra beds are included, depending on the sleeping arrangement. In order to host a wedding at Xanadu Villas & Retreat, one has to book the entire property exclusively at least 12 months in advance. The minimum number of nights throughout the year is 2 nights, and during the festive period (21st December – 10th January) it is 4 nights. A non-refundable deposit of 25% Is required to secure accommodation for the duration of the stay. Can I book a Wedding Package without staying at your hotel?

It is mandatory that the property is booked exclusively on the respective dates to ensure privacy and exclusivity for our guests. In the event of an overflow of guests, we have close hotels of similar stature as our property such as Breezes Beach Club, and Zawadi Hotel Zanzibar to name a few.

What is included in the Wedding Package?

Please refer to our Wedding Packages with detailed information about what it offers. Please be informed that accommodation, flowers, decor, and additional wedding vendors such as officiate, photographer, musician, etc. are not included in the wedding package and will incur additional charges based on the vendor chosen.

Is the pavilion at the beach the only spot for ceremonies, and how many guests can it seat?

We have different venues on the property where we host ceremonies and receptions depending on the number of people as well as the wedding party’s preference. There are a variety of options to host a ceremony including the upper beach (weather permitting), restaurant, or the Deck. After the ceremony, the upper beach and deck are where the guests will be relaxing and having canapés & drinks, whilst the photo shoot is taking place. We have two main areas where we can host the reception: The restaurant (semi-indoor) and Nyota Villa on the beach (outdoor) all depending on the weather. To give you an outline of how many people each venue can accommodate.

Does Xanadu have a wedding coordinator for hire?

We do not have a wedding coordinator on the property; however, we have wedding coordinators that we have worked with in the past and can recommend. We are flexible in sourcing and recommending trusted coordinators based on guests’ requirements. Guests have the option to use their own as well. What options are there for entertainment, like live music (DJ, soloists, live bands, etc.)

There is a variety of entertainment to choose from including DJs, soloists, Live bands, and performers. Kindly engage with one of our Reservations Representatives, and they will gladly you share with a detailed vendor list of entertainment to select from.

What do you offer the newlyweds?

To celebrate the beautiful milestone, we offer our new wed couples one complimentary night and a spa massage as part of their wedding package, depending on which package they have opted for. Please kindly refer to our Wedding Packages for more detailed information.

What is there to say about Marriage Licensing, and does Xanadu coordinate the paperwork?

We can assist in arranging marriage licenses for guests. We cater to an international market, and legal formalities may vary from country to country. Our Representative from the Reservation Department will guide you accordingly on what relevant documentation and information are required to meet the legal requirements. Can we design our own wedding-menu?

Our Food & Beverage has pre-set options available and is flexible in tailoring the menu as per guest preference.

Are all weddings tailor-made? Or can guests choose between different packages already right from the website?

The packages would form the base of the offering and then be tailor-made from there to create a unique experience.

We offer wedding packages that form the base of the whole experience, and guests are welcome to build on it and tailor-make it to their expectations.
